SHAO Jiayin (CHN) wins silver in U19 Women's Coxless Four

  SHENYANG - SHAO Jiayin and her teammatesfrom China won the silver medal in the U19 Women's Coxless Four at the 2025 Asian Rowing U19 and U23 Championships along the HunRiverhere on Sunday.

  On their performance:

  We did a good job with the help of wind. We just teamed up three months ago and ranked second in the National Rowing Championships in June. But we’ve raced a lot faster this time because of our improvement as well as the help of wind.

  On the cooperation among four players:

  Four athletes have different roles during the whole race course. The No. 4 player, sitting farthestfrom the finish line, is the most important one for adjusting the pace. And the No. 1 player is for the balance, No. 2 and No. 3 for the power and speed.

  On their major opponent Vietnam:

  They are the Vietnamese national team members and have more experience and skills than us. They started the race fast and made light strokes every time they went in and out of the water surface, so we found it hard to catch up with them in the latter course. We will learn more from them.
