China addes three, Uzbekistan and Iran split two

SHENYANG - Host China reaped three more titles with Uzbekistan and Iran spliting the other two gold medals on offer on Saturday morning at the Asian Rowing U19&U23 Championships.
Of the 15 events contested so far, all the gold medals were taken by these three teams, with China bagging 10. Uzbekistan was in a distant seond with three and Iran took the other two.
The last five events will be competed in the afternoon.
The three gold medals for China were from the suclls events, namely the men's U19 single sculls through Zhao Shiyan, women's U23 double sculls by Li Chaoran and Zhang Fangfang, and men's U19 quadruple sculls by Xu Wenteng, Li Junlong, Li Sichen and Lyu Shihao.
Uzbekistan added one more gold to its collection by Daler Ashurov and Bobomurod Pardaev in the men's U19 pair. Its quartet also won the bronze medal in the men's U19 quadruple sculls.
Iran triumphed in the women's U19 single sculls by Mohana Hajihosseini, who beat Liu Jie (HKG) and Ho Thi Duy (VIE) into second and third respectively. Hu Xinwen of China only finished fourth.
A total of 280 athletes from 19 countries and regions have been competing in 20 events, which were divided into four categories by gender and age. Every category features five events of single sculls, double sculls, quadruple sculls, pair and four.
