SHENYANG - To Siupo and Wong Ching (HKG) finished second in the men's pair at the ongoing Asian Rowing U19&U23 Championships.
On the purpose to train in rowing:
"Both of us started training in rowing just for the simple reason of reducing our weight. Our teacher said to me 'come over for rowing training, it will help you reduce weight' because we were all fat kids at that time. After training for one year, we lost the weight by some 40 kgs and we're proud of our body shapes nowadays," said To.
On the feeling of competing in Shenyang:
"For us, it's the first time to come to Shenyang as well as Northeast China. It's nice and cool here. Instead of the sweating heat in Hong Kong, we have to put on jacket at the airport here and feel good. The venue here is also excellent with perfect equipment," said Wong.
On cuisines in Shenyang:
"As athletes, we have very strict dietary rules and can't allow ourselves to enjoy the famous food in Shenyang. We have heard of it and can see it by looking around the dining booths during the night, but we haven't had a taste so far," said Wong.
On future plan:
"We have been training in rowing for four to five years. Although we started to pair up for only two months, we cooperate with each other very well and will compete in the coming national championships as well as the Asian Championships. We hope to achieve good results," said To.
