CHINA wins big at Asian Rowing U19&U23 Championships

SHENYANG - Host China remained the biggest winner with six golds from the second day finals, collecting 13 out of the total 20 golds offered at the Asian Rowing U19&U23 Championships which concluded here Saturday afternoon.
After winning three of the five in the morning, China added three more gold medals in the afternoon from the men’s events of U23 single sculls, U19 double sculls and U23 quadruple sculls.
During the four-day competitions, the Chinese team also bagged two silver and two bronze medals.
Uzbekistan placed in the distant second with three golds, two silvers and six bronzes, while Iran was third by collecting three golds and one silver.
In the afternoon, Vietnam broke the monopoly of gold medals by China, Uzbekistan and Iran, winning the women’s U19 double sculls to add to its collection of seven silver and six bronze medals.
Kazakhstan pocketed three silver medals, followed by South Korea with two silvers and one bronze. Hong Kong China won two silvers and Japan had one silver and one bronze.
DPR Korea, India and Chinese Taipei won one bronze medal each.
