ZHANG finishes 1st in U23 women's double sculls final

SHENYANG - Zhang Fangfang (CHN) and her teammate Li Chaoran won the U23 women's double sculls at the Asian Rowing U19&U23 Championships here on Saturday.

On her cooperation with teammate:

“My partner Li Chaoran and I are both from Anhui Province. We started to specialize in double sculls in April last year. We won the National Student (Youth) Games, and in July this year we got the gold medal at the National Rowing Youth Championships,”said Zhang.

On her feelings about winning the event:

“I feel very excited now, because all our hard work has paid off. The hard work and dedication are worth it and I'm enjoying the process.”

On her plan after the competition:

“In the next, we will go directly to Sichuan to participate in the National Rowing Championships on September 25, and we will spend the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday in Sichuan.”

On the venue and services:

“It's my first time to visit Shenyang. The environment here is very good. Well-equipped facilities, warm-hearted service from organizers and volunteers all help guarantee the smooth running of our competition. We feel touched and warm.”
