HAU places fourth in women's single sculls repechage

SHENYANG - Hau San Lian (MYA) finished fourth in repechage 1 of women's U19 single sculls at the Asian Rowing U19 and U23 Championships along the Hun river here on Thursday.

On her regular training:

"I do my rowing in our training base in Yangon, Myanmar. I am 17 years old now. I've been training relentlessly during the past three years to gain myself this chance."

On her performance today:

"This is the first time for me to compete in such an international tournament and I was really nervous before the race. But I managed to calm down and focus on myself during the competition.”

On her target at the championships:

"Just make the full use of this precious opportunity and enjoy the game."

On the competition venue:

"It's also my first time to visit China. I'm impressed by the beautiful scenery along the river and feel comfortable about the weather here. And the transportation and service are convenient.”

On her future plan:

"My goal is to compete in the Olympic Games."
